In January 2017 Father Jean Pierre, Margalie, Betty and Carol traveled to Jacmel Haiti. While there they helped to organize the building of a fence around the land on which the school will be built. Several local workers helped plan and construct the fence which will protect the land until construction of the school begins.
We’ve been making great progress toward our goal of building a vocational school in Jacmel, Haiti!
The land in Jacmel has been surveyed and its ownership legally changed to the Parisot Foundation. We have also obtained a permit from the City of Jacmel to build and run the school. Currently we are awaiting an appointment in Jacmel with “Food for the Poor” in order to give the directors a tour of the land. This appointment will be the final step before plans are made to begin construction.
Once again this year, we are holding a Dinner/Dance fundraiser at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Norwood on Saturday, September 23, 2017. We’ll also be holding raffles for prizes and gift baskets. Stay tuned for more information!
