NOVEMBER 2018 TRIP TO JACMEL, HAITI

The day after Thanksgiving, November 23, 2018, we traveled to Haiti to view the progress of the Parisot School construction.  Up until the day before our trip we were unsure if we could travel due to the political unrest in and around Port au Prince.  The roads out of the city were blocked by groups protesting the questionable policies of the Haitian Government.  Thanksgiving afternoon we received the news that the roads were clear and we would be able to proceed with our plans.

In July 2017 construction started on the Parisot School in Jacmel Haiti.  The construction manager and all laborers are from the Jacmel area.  We are very excited that the building of the school has begun and we hope to complete all aspects of the project in 2018.

In January 2014 we travelled to Jacmel Haiti on a fact finding mission to research the possibility of building a vocational school for local youth.  After spending 4 days in Haiti we came home determined to build the school and give the children of Jacmel hope for the future.
