About

The sole focus of the Reverend Jean M Parisot Foundation is the building and establishment of a liberal arts and vocational school and dormitories for one hundred impoverished youth.  The Foundation is an approved 501c3 non-profit organization.

The need for additional schools for the youth in Haiti is acute. Despite larger scale recovery projects following the 2010 earthquake the need for local schools remains unmet. Haiti remains an impoverished country where children grow up, often illiterate, without education and basic vocational, job skills training necessary to do productive work. The children are often orphaned and without opportunity, and turn to lives of crime, drugs and prostitution.

Recognizing the ongoing basic need for fundamental education and skills Father Aubin started the Foundation to provide a school for youth in his hometown concentrating on liberal arts education combined with an intensive vocational training.

Much of the planning for the school has already been accomplished. Blueprints for the buildings have been drawn by a professional architect. The outline for the curriculum are complete. The vocational training includes culinary science, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and masonry. The teachers will include local citizens and Roman Catholic sisters.
